Experience the Veillon site
Enchanting interlude
1 day
If you’ve chosen the Vendée, it’s for its calm and relaxed lifestyle, but that’s not all!
It’s also about quenching your thirst for discovery.
You’re in for a treat.
The département abounds in unsuspected treasures and breathtaking landscapes.
For this experience, we’re taking you to discover one of them: the Veillon site.
When you stay at Les Flots de l’Océan campsite, you’ll have a place of choice! The campsite is the closest to this exceptional site. What a bargain!
Get off to a good start with breakfast on the terrace of your mobile home. Fresh bread, pastries, tea or coffee…
Located just a few meters from Le Veillon, you won’t have to deal with the traffic and parking problems that other holidaymakers may encounter.
However, if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet of this site, we advise you to get up early, before the influx of holidaymakers arrives.
700 meters is the distance between your mobile home and the beach. To get to Le Veillon on foot, simply leave the campsite and takeAvenue de la Plage. It takes you straight to Le Veillon.
From there, a breathtaking landscape rises before your eyes.
But before you leave, don’t forget to equip yourself:
A good pair of sneakers,
A bottle of water,
A cap or hat,
Sun cream,
Beach towel and bathing suit
Before the comfort, the effort!
You didn’t think you’d be putting your towel down on the warm sand right away, did you? Lounging will have to wait.
We invite you to take the path on your left, just before you reach the beach. You can glide through the pine forest. The path runs alongside the beach. This one is marked out.
A little further on, you’ll come to La Guittière.
P’tit tips: La Guittière is an oyster port. It features several fishermen’s huts. Enjoy delicious seafood and fresh oysters with a small glass of white wine.
After a break, continue on your way back to the Veillon entrance.
After this morning stroll, it’s time to recharge our batteries.
For lunch, we offer several options:
1/ You can choose to dine at the La Plage restaurant. Delicious traditional cuisine awaits you.
2/ return to the campsite for lunch on the terrace of your mobile home.
3/ If you’re planning a picnic, you can sit in the shade of the pine trees and enjoy the view over the lagoon.
Whichever option you choose, after your meal, head for the beach.
Beige sand, turquoise waters, lagoon… Le Veillon is a real gem. Awarded the Pavillon Bleu label for the quality of its bathing waters, you’ll enjoy a moment of rejuvenation.
The beach is so large that you’re bound to find a place to sit comfortably.
Here too, there’s something for everyone.
Sand castles, reading or a siesta for a lazy afternoon. Thanks to its gentle slope, swimming at Le Veillon is quite safe. But be sure to keep an eye on your children.
A hectic afternoon
If you still have some energy left, you’ll find a number of water sports centres where you can enjoy a session of discovery. Vacations are the time to let go and make new discoveries.
In Le Veillon, several bases offer a variety of sports: windsurfing, kitesurfing and paddleboarding.
Choose the one that appeals to you. Whether you’re with family, friends or on your own, get away for a few minutes of fun.
After a bit of color (and a few bowls in the water), the beach starts to empty, and it’s time to head back to the campsite.
Little tips: You’re only a few meters from the beach, so we recommend you come back in the evening to enjoy a superb sunset.
I assure you, you’ll keep these images in your mind for a long time to come.
